Panama-Flagged Bulk Carrier Arrested in Singapore | Mariner News
Singapore authorities arrested the Panama-flagged bulk carrier Traverse Antwerp at 2:24 PM local time on October 16, according to official judiciary records. The 77,075 DWT vessel is currently being held at the Eastern Bunkering Anchorage B.
The arrest was carried out on behalf of Titanium Law Chambers LLC. While the specific reason for the detention was not disclosed, such actions typically stem from maritime claims, frequently involving disputes over unpaid bunkers or other operational services. The vessel’s location at a bunkering anchorage lends weight to the possibility of bunker-related claims.
Prior to its arrest, the 21-year-old bulk carrier was reportedly en route to the Suez Canal in Egypt. This detention will significantly disrupt its scheduled voyage, potentially impacting charter parties, cargo delivery timelines, and subsequent vessel employment.
The Traverse Antwerp remains under arrest, halting its operational schedule indefinitely until the underlying maritime claim is resolved.
