Saudi Biofuel Firm TBFCO to Bring B100 to Qatar | Mariner News
Saudi Arabia-based The Biofuel Company of Saudi Arabia (TBFCO) has signed an exclusive partnership with Qatar’s Kingdom Konsult to develop the B100 biofuel market in Qatar, explicitly targeting the bunker industry among other sectors. This agreement signifies a notable expansion of pure biofuel availability into a key Middle Eastern shipping and logistics hub.
The partnership aims to introduce B100 across Qatar and develop commercial opportunities. Kingdom Konsult will manage market development, stakeholder engagement, and commercial aspects, while TBFCO will provide B100 supply, technical support, and product documentation.
TBFCO’s involvement in the Qatari market leverages its established regional expertise. The company has previously supplied pure B100 to marine vessels in Saudi Arabia, and its senior management has been involved in every biofuel bunkering operation in the UAE since 2020. This track record suggests the emergence of a more mature and interconnected regional supply network for pure biofuels, providing greater operational consistency for vessels seeking to decarbonize in the Middle East.
Beyond marine fuel, the companies will target sectors including transport and logistics, industrial operations, infrastructure, construction, hospitality, and major events. They plan to explore both pilot projects and commercial-scale deployments, expanding the accessible green fuel options for various heavy industries in Qatar.
