Pantheon Tankers Takes Delivery of New Suezmax M/T Sea Quartz | Mariner News
Pantheon Tankers Management, part of Anna Angelicoussis’ group, has taken delivery of its latest newbuilding, the Suezmax tanker M/T Sea Quartz. The vessel, constructed at HD Hyundai Heavy Industries, has now joined the Greek shipping company’s fleet, adding modern capacity to its crude oil transportation capabilities.
The M/T Sea Quartz will operate under the Greek flag, a move that further reinforces the presence of contemporary large tankers within the Greek registry. This strategic decision by Pantheon not only expands its operational footprint but also contributes to the quality and modernity of Greece’s national fleet, signaling a continued commitment to flag state development.
The addition of a newbuild Suezmax indicates Pantheon’s ongoing investment in fleet renewal and expansion within a crucial segment of the crude tanker market. Such vessels, typically capable of carrying approximately 1 million barrels of crude oil, are vital for various regional and intercontinental trade routes that can utilize the Suez Canal.
Pantheon Tankers expressed satisfaction via LinkedIn with the successful delivery and handover process, acknowledging the collective efforts of all teams involved in the shipbuilding. The new tanker is expected to commence operations shortly, bolstering the company’s competitive standing.
