CPC Halts MGO Supply at Taiwan’s Suao Port | Mariner News
CPC Corporation will temporarily suspend Marine Gas Oil (MGO) supply at Taiwan’s Suao Port from October 19 to 21, 2026, due to scheduled pipeline maintenance. The three-day outage will impact vessels reliant on MGO bunkering at the port.
The suspension at Suao Port is particularly significant for operational planning, as barge supply is not available at Suao, or at Hualien. This means vessels requiring MGO during the specified period will not have an in-port alternative beyond direct shore-side delivery, necessitating route adjustments or calls at other Taiwanese ports where CPC Corporation also supplies bunker fuels, such as Kaohsiung, Taichung, or Keelung.
CPC Corporation notified its customers of the impending suspension via email on Wednesday. This development follows an earlier notification last week regarding a separate bunker disruption; CPC’s bunker barge Bao Shan No. 2 was out of service at Kaohsiung Port from October 12-17 for unexpected equipment maintenance. While unrelated in cause, the consecutive nature of these supply constraints across key Taiwanese ports could pose ongoing challenges for regional bunker procurement strategies and fleet scheduling.
