CMB.Tech expects $59.6M gain from Suezmax Stella sale | Mariner News
CMB.Tech is set to record a substantial USD 59.6 million gain from the sale of its 2011-built Suezmax tanker, Stella. The company expects to recognize this significant financial uplift in the fourth quarter of 2026.
The projected gain highlights either a particularly strong valuation for tanker assets at the time the sales agreement was struck, or a strategically advantageous transaction secured by CMB.Tech.
The deferred recognition of the gain in Q4 2026, as noted by CMB.Tech CEO Alexander Saverys, suggests the transaction is likely structured as a sale with deferred delivery or a similar financial arrangement, rather than an immediate outright disposal. This timing implies that the financial benefits will impact the company’s future financial reporting rather than providing an immediate liquidity injection.
