Fugro has secured a significant marine asset integrity contract in Australia, solidifying its position as a key provider of subsea inspection, intervention, and maintenance (IIM) services within the offshore energy sector.

The contract specifically tasks Fugro with replacing critical subsea infrastructure to ensure the long-term reliability and performance of its client’s offshore assets. Beyond the replacement works, Fugro will also provide subsea survey and inspection services, leveraging its remote operations capabilities.

This award highlights a growing client preference for integrated service solutions, as Fugro will combine its engineering expertise, project management, and offshore execution capabilities. Such comprehensive engagements, encompassing multiple phases of work, suggest a move towards more holistic asset lifecycle support from single vendors, potentially streamlining project delivery and reducing interface complexity for operators.

Operational execution for the offshore phase will be carried out using Fugro’s multipurpose support vessel, Fugro Etive, with onshore project management, engineering, and operational support delivered by the company’s regional teams.

Detailed engineering is scheduled to commence in the coming weeks, building on an initial phase of engineering and planning activities already completed. Offshore operations are expected to begin towards the end of 2027.
