FESCO Expands Russia-Asia Network with Wenzhou Call and Korea Boost

FESCO is restructuring its Northeast Asian network by reinstating a call at Wenzhou on its FCDL3 service and doubling the frequency of its shuttle between South Korea and the Russian Far East.

The return of Wenzhou to the FCDL3 rotation follows the launch of the dedicated FCDL5 service, which now handles direct connections between Shanghai and Vladivostok. By hiving off Shanghai volumes to a standalone loop, the carrier has created the operational capacity to re-integrate secondary Chinese ports into its regional schedule without compromising transit times for major hubs.

The updated FCDL3 rotation now links Vladivostok with Shantou, Xiamen, Wenzhou, and Ningbo. This move indicates a strategic shift toward capturing more diversified cargo flows from mid-tier Chinese manufacturing centers while maintaining high-frequency coverage at the primary gateways.

Parallel to the China expansion, FESCO has bolstered its Korea Soviet Direct Line (KSDL). The deployment of a second vessel has increased service frequency to one sailing every four days, according to data from DynaLiners.

The KSDL shuttle, operating between Busan and Vladivostok, now utilizes two container ships with capacities ranging from 700 to 900 TEUs. This capacity injection reflects a tightening of the logistics link between South Korea’s primary transshipment hub and Russia’s main Pacific gateway, suggesting robust demand for feeder and direct volumes on the corridor.
