EuroHoldings Ltd. has secured time charter contract extensions for two of its feeder containerships, M/V Joanna and M/V Aegean Express, at significantly elevated daily rates that will commence in late 2026 and early 2027. This move signals a robust outlook for the feeder segment, with charterers committing to long-term employment at premium pricing well into the future.
The 1,732 teu M/V Joanna secured an extension for a minimum of 30 months, with an option for up to an additional 20 days, at a gross daily rate of $24,000. This new period will begin on December 2, 2026. Simultaneously, the 1,439 teu M/V Aegean Express was extended for a minimum of 24 to a maximum of 26 months, at the charterer’s option, at a gross daily rate of $20,500. Its new charter commences on January 1, 2027.
These fixtures provide EuroHoldings with substantial revenue visibility and enhanced profitability from these assets, directly addressing concerns about future market volatility. The rates, which Aristides Pittas, Chairman and CEO of EuroHoldings, noted are “significantly higher than their current contracts,” suggest a firm belief among charterers in sustained demand for feeder tonnage over the coming years, not merely a response to present-day market tightness.
