Trust Score: 95

The CMA CGM Group has finalized its $1.4 billion acquisition of FedEx Supply Chain, a move that significantly broadens CEVA Logistics’ footprint and accelerates the French carrier’s long-term strategy to deliver integrated, end-to-end logistics solutions. The transaction, completed today, nearly triples the North American contract logistics operations of CMA CGM’s subsidiary, CEVA Logistics.

This acquisition positions CEVA Logistics as one of North America’s leading contract logistics providers, immediately adding approximately 34 million square feet of warehouse space across 150 facilities. The combined entity now operates over 240 locations in North America with a workforce of approximately 20,000 personnel. This expansion underscores CMA CGM’s more than 25-year investment commitment to the United States, a key strategic market.

Beyond sheer scale, the integration combines complementary digital and operational capabilities, which is expected to accelerate the deployment of automation and robotics throughout the expanded North American network. For shippers, this consolidation offers a more streamlined supply chain, potentially reducing the number of interfaces and enhancing visibility from origin port to final inland destination. The move deepens CMA CGM’s ability to offer a comprehensive suite of services encompassing ocean shipping, terminal operations, inland transport, warehousing, and value-added logistics, furthering its competitive standing against other integrated carriers.
