Aker Solutions Expands bp North Sea Integrity Deal | Mariner News

Trust Score: 95

Aker Solutions has significantly expanded its footprint with bp, securing a new frame agreement to provide engineering and integrity services across the energy major’s North Sea assets. The new deal extends Aker Solutions’ existing support, which previously focused on bp’s west of Shetland operations, to now encompass central North Sea assets.

The agreement tasks Aker Solutions with delivering engineering, integrity management, project support, and operational services. This strategic expansion is set to be managed by Aker Solutions’ Life Cycle segment from its facilities in Aberdeen, Scotland, and is expected to support approximately 50 positions.

The contract has an initial duration of three years, with provisions for two optional one-year extensions. Steinar Røgenes, acting Executive Vice President for Aker Solutions’ Life Cycle business, emphasized the company’s pride in taking on expanded responsibilities and its commitment to supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations for bp.

This development strengthens Aker Solutions’ position in the competitive UK North Sea market, aligning with its ambition to grow its Life Cycle business. For bp, consolidating engineering and integrity services under a single, expanded frame agreement suggests a move towards streamlined operational oversight and potentially enhanced standardization across a wider portfolio of its North Sea assets.
