Seatrium, Karpowership ink ninth FSRU conversion deal | Mariner News
Seatrium Limited and Karpowership have extended their long-standing strategic collaboration, confirming the ninth Floating Storage Regasification Unit (FSRU) conversion project. The new vessel, LNGT Akdeniz, will join Karpowership’s Kinetics initiative, focusing on energy transition.
This latest award follows the successful delivery of seven FSRUs since 2018 and the ongoing conversion of the eighth project, LNGT Karadeniz. The partnership recently celebrated the naming and sail-away of LNGT Türkiye, another FSRU conversion.
Mr. Gokhan Kocak, Chief Technical Operations Officer at Karpowership, highlighted the significance of LNGT Türkiye’s delivery and the LNGT Akdeniz award in advancing Karpowership’s LNG-to-Power business. He noted that these FSRUs enhance the company’s capacity to deliver reliable and flexible energy solutions, particularly to markets where energy security is critical.
The consistent stream of FSRU conversion projects underscores the sustained market demand for rapidly deployable and adaptable LNG import infrastructure. This continued collaboration also solidifies Seatrium’s established expertise and reliability in executing complex FSRU conversions, reinforcing their position as a key enabler in this specialized segment. Karpowership’s repeated engagement of Seatrium suggests a strong emphasis on proven operational performance and a strategic commitment to FSRUs as a core component of its energy transition strategy.
