Seacon orders electric training boxship at Fujian Mawei

Seacon Shipping has reached an agreement with Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding to develop electric container vessels.    

According to media reports, Seacon has placed an order for one plus one 406-TEU electric container ship at Mawei. This marks the first vessel of its kind to be built in China.

The 406 TEU vessel, designed for dual roles as both a containership and an educational platform, will be 104 m long and powered entirely by electricity.
