Pacific Marine & Supply Company (PMS) has announced a significant expansion into large-scale advanced manufacturing, a move the company frames as critical for national security and the growth of the U.S. Maritime Industrial Base. Christian Talmage has been appointed Vice President of Large-Scale Advanced Manufacturing to spearhead this new initiative and oversee the development and strategic direction of a new manufacturing facility.

This strategic pivot by PMS directly addresses the critical national security concern of the United States’ lagging shipbuilding capacity, currently trailing China by a factor of more than 200 to 1. The company aims to rapidly grow domestic production capabilities by leveraging advanced manufacturing techniques.

Talmage joins PMS from N2 Ventures, an industrial technology-focused venture capital firm, where he served as an Operating Partner working with defense and industrial companies. He brings fifteen years of experience founding and leading venture-backed businesses that deploy frontier technologies such as robotics, artificial intelligence, and data science to solve complex manufacturing and supply chain challenges.

PMS Chairman Steven Loui highlighted Talmage’s “rare combination: deep technical expertise and a proven track record of scaling physical infrastructure businesses.” His background is expected to enable PMS to transition its advanced manufacturing initiatives from prototyping to full-scale production.

The initiative is also poised to introduce new manufacturing technologies to Hawai?i, fostering local development while contributing to broader national defense objectives within the Pacific region.
