The integration of Gale Force’s expertise into the Orbit platform will allow clients to access intelligent, connected workflows that deliver actionable insights more efficiently.

OrbitMI’s purchase of Gale Force follows the recent acquisition of AI company AuQub and reinforces its commitment to combining technology with maritime expertise.

OrbitMI CEO Ali Riaz said: “Bringing Gale Force into the OrbitMI family allows us to embed critical advisory services directly into daily workflows, helping our clients move from insight to action even faster.

“OrbitMI remains committed to an open and collaborative approach when it comes to weather services, and we will continue to support integrations with a range of providers.”

Gale Force’s advanced analytics and experience in maritime services provide clients with optimised voyage plans that aim to reduce fuel consumption, enhance safety, and increase schedule reliability.

The company’s emissions reporting tools are designed to comply with global regulations and offer flexible reporting templates that integrate seamlessly with existing ship systems.

Through the acquisition, OrbitMI customers will benefit from human-in-the-loop weather routing, accurate fuel and emissions tracking, validated performance monitoring, seamless data collection, and expert advisory support.

Tom Sandberg, founder of Gale Force, along with his team, will join OrbitMI, bringing valuable experience in naval architecture, marine meteorology, and shipping operations.

Sandberg said: “We’ve always believed that better data leads to better decisions—but only when it’s supported by the right expertise.

“Joining OrbitMI allows us to bring our advisory model to a broader audience, embedded in a platform built for scale and impact.”

Earlier in March, OrbitMI implemented its compliance solutions for Statu Shipping, a company based in Istanbul with a fleet of 20 bulk carriers.

This solution enables Statu Shipping to monitor and manage compliance in real-time, optimise efficiency, reduce costs, and adhere to regulations during voyages.
