Ofiniti Acquires ZeroNorth eBDN Business | Mariner News

Trust Score: 70

Ofiniti has agreed to acquire ZeroNorth’s electronic bunker delivery note (eBDN) solution, a move that significantly expands Ofiniti’s digital bunkering capabilities while allowing ZeroNorth to sharpen its focus on AI-driven optimization.

The deal, which includes BTS Pte. Ltd., the Singapore-based legal entity and license holder behind the eBDN product, represents Ofiniti’s third acquisition since its spin-out from DNV in September 2024. Previous acquisitions include Singapore-based Angsana Technology and Dutch maritime technology firm Teqplay.

Upon completion, the eBDN technology and its customer base will integrate into Ofiniti’s Bunker Operating System. The companies have pledged to work collaboratively with customers to ensure service continuity.

This acquisition underscores Ofiniti’s strategic emphasis on strengthening its presence in Singapore and leveraging regional insights to connect bunkering operations globally, as stated by CEO Tue Raguse. The repeated acquisition of Singapore-related entities suggests a concerted effort to establish a significant operational and technological hub in the region for digital bunkering.

For ZeroNorth, the divestment marks a clear strategic pivot. The company stated it will now concentrate its bunkering investment on procurement, pricing, planning, and agentic AI. This move indicates a desire to streamline its portfolio, divesting from transactional software like eBDN to double down on higher-value data analytics and AI-driven optimization solutions within the maritime supply chain.

The transaction highlights a continuing trend of consolidation within the maritime technology sector, particularly in digital bunkering solutions. Larger platforms like Ofiniti are actively integrating specialized tools to create more comprehensive operating systems.

No financial terms for the acquisition were disclosed, and a completion date was not provided.
