NYK Group, through its Singapore-based NYK Bulkship (Asia), has forged a landmark agreement with JERA Co., Inc., setting the stage for pioneering low-carbon ammonia transport by marine vessels. This strategic partnership involves two time-charter contracts for dedicated ammonia carriers. This initiative aims to deliver low-carbon ammonia produced at JERA’s Blue Point Project in Louisiana, USA, to its Hekinan Thermal Power Station in Japan, marking a significant first commercial shipment of fuel ammonia to the nation.
