Nord Gas Solutions to Supply LPG Fuel System for Gas Carriers | Mariner News
Nord Gas Solutions has secured a contract to provide integrated LPG fuel supply and cargo handling systems for two new 40,000 m3 medium gas carriers. The vessels are being built by HD Hyundai for Byzantine Maritime.
The contract, signed in June, covers both the cargo handling and the LPG fuel supply systems. Equipment deliveries for the newbuildings are scheduled for April 2027, according to Nord Gas Solutions.
This agreement strengthens Nord Gas Solutions’ market position as a supplier of integrated cargo handling and fuel supply systems for gas carrier newbuildings. It also reinforces the company’s established relationship with HD Hyundai and Byzantine Maritime, which already operates vessels equipped with Nord Gas Solutions’ cargo handling systems.
For Byzantine Maritime, the decision to install LPG fuel supply systems on these new gas carriers underscores a strategic commitment to LPG as a marine fuel, leveraging the vessel’s primary cargo for propulsion. This move, facilitated by a long-standing supplier for critical integrated systems, suggests an emphasis on operational synergy and continuity across their fleet.
Patrick Ha, Sales Manager at Nord Gas Solutions, noted the contract reflects the strong working relationship and mutual trust built with HD Hyundai over many years, highlighting the repeat business from Byzantine Maritime.
