Spanish energy leaders Naturgy and Enagás have forged a strategic partnership to introduce a new LNG bunker vessel, the Mistral LNG, significantly boosting the supply of cleaner marine fuel across the Iberian Peninsula. With a substantial cargo capacity of 18,900 m3, this advanced vessel is set to revolutionize ship fueling operations, primarily serving crucial maritime zones including the Iberian Peninsula, the Strait of Gibraltar, and the Canary Islands. Scheduled to commence service in 2028, the Mistral LNG represents a major step towards decarbonizing the regional shipping industry.

Strategic Expansion in LNG Marine Fuel

This collaborative venture underscores both companies’ commitment to sustainable maritime solutions. Enagás’ subsidiary, Scale Green Energy, will own and operate the Mistral LNG, which will be chartered long-term to Naturgy.
