A Chinese-flagged ship has sunk in waters off Guangzhou, China, after a collision with a Singapore-registered container ship. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) confirmed the incident, which occurred on Saturday night, October 25, 2025.
The vessel, identified as the Hai Li 5, was carrying 15 crew members at the time of the collision. Following the incident, two of these crew members remain missing. The other vessel involved was the Singapore-registered container ship Wan Hai A17.
Fortunately, no injuries have been reported among the crew of the Wan Hai A17. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has launched a full investigation into the circumstances surrounding the collision and the subsequent sinking of the Chinese ship.
