Brunvoll will also deliver inverters, a dual DC grid, a DC shore connection, and propulsion motors and generators. Additionally, the scope of supply incorporates a battery system.

The ferry, scheduled for delivery in June 2026, will serve the route between Lauvvik and Lysebotn in Lysefjorden. It will be operated under a long-term contract with Kolombus.

The vessel is designed to carry 97 passengers and up to 12 vehicles. It will be powered by a 2.7MW battery system, which allows for quiet operation at speeds of up to 18 knots, ensuring a zero-emission journey.

Brunvoll Mar-El vice president sales and marketing Birger Gauslå said: “This is a good example of how Norwegian-built technology supports sustainable maritime transport and it’s great to see Brunvoll systems onboard a vessel like this.

“We appreciate the trust placed in us and look forward to contributing to reliable and environmentally friendly operations in Lysefjorden.”

The deal includes the delivery of 45 thrusters, marking Brunvoll’s largest contract in terms of volume and value.
