Anglo-Eastern introduces SAPS digital platform for maritime

Anglo-Eastern Univan Group has introduced a digital platform aimed at assisting charterers and commercial operators in addressing maritime decarbonisation, fleet performance, and fuel cost management.
The Sustainability and Performance Services (SAPS) platform combines AI with real-time vessel and voyage data to support operational decisions related to fuel use, route selection.

Combine business intelligence and editorial excellence to reach engaged professionals across 36 leading media platforms.
Service categories within the platform include crew training, vessel performance tracking, inspections, optimisation, AI-based forecasting, charter-oriented performance contracts, coatings advisory, and compliance audits.
The platform offers advantages such as real-time voyage optimisation that considers weather conditions, vessel performance, and operational requirements, stated the company.
It also provides “predictive fuel consumption modelling” and supplies recommendations based on different scenarios.
According to the company, the platform supports regulatory compliance management aligned with international maritime standards. Dashboards are also included to facilitate communication between onboard and shoreside teams.
SAPS helps users meet regulatory obligations under schemes such as the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), FuelEU, and the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII).
Anglo-Eastern chief commercial officer Niraj Nanda said: “SAPS exemplifies Anglo-Eastern’s dedication to innovation and sustainable shipping.
“By harnessing cutting-edge technology, we help our clients significantly reduce fuel consumption – one of the largest operational expenses – while navigating the growing complexity and cost of compliance.”
During 2023 and 2025, SAPS has been tested across Anglo-Eastern’s managed fleet. The system monitored more than 800 vessels and close to 46,000 voyages.
Over 4,300 crew members received training in vessel optimisation, and the platform processed more than 739,000 performance reports.
According to the company, this contributed to a reduction of more than 700,000mt of CO₂ emissions and fuel savings exceeding 225,000mt, with estimated cost savings of approximately $135m.
Anglo-Eastern operations and shared services group managing director Swapnodeep Mondal said: “This marks a significant step forward. SAPS is more than a service offering; it’s a holistic platform that brings together the deep expertise of our sustainability and performance teams with intelligent technology.
“This enables us to support our full base of clients and their charter parties with tailored insights and hands-on guidance that drive meaningful operational outcomes.”
In August this year, Anglo-Eastern chose Inmarsat’s NexusWave to upgrade the Hadley Shipping Group’s fleet, enhancing connectivity for the company.
NexusWave provides a fully managed bonded connectivity solution designed for modern shipping needs, featuring high-speed connectivity, resilient bonded networks, and global coverage.
