Alpha Gas has successfully completed the dry-docking of its 173,400-cubic-metre LNG carrier Energy Intelligence at Malaysia Marine and Heavy Engineering (MMHE). This milestone marks the timely return to operational service of a critical, high-specification asset for the Greek shipping group.

The Energy Intelligence, a modern vessel delivered in June 2021 from South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (now Hanwha Ocean), is equipped with an ME-GI propulsion system. Flying the Marshall Islands flag and classed by Lloyd’s Register, its return ensures Alpha Gas maintains full deployment of its advanced LNG fleet.

Alpha Gas, which is controlled by Anna Angelicoussis’ interests, attributed the efficient completion of the work to strong teamwork, disciplined execution, and a steadfast focus on safety and operational excellence. The successful dry-docking of such a young, sophisticated vessel underscores the company’s commitment to maintaining peak performance and availability for its assets in the demanding LNG sector.

Prior to the completion of the dry-docking, Alpha Gas executives conducted an on-site visit to the vessel at MMHE, monitoring the progress of work and technical interventions first-hand. This oversight highlights the strategic importance placed on ensuring the vessel’s readiness and compliance for its ongoing employment.
